Things To Do

With great hiking, incredible rock formations and waterfalls, outdoor adventures, amazing local artists, and wineries/breweries the Hocking Hills region of Ohio has an incredible variety of experiences available.

Here are some of the top things to do while in Hocking Hills.

  1. Hiking! A trip to Hocking Hills would not be complete without checking out the amazing hikes that include great views, caves, and waterfalls. The expansive choice of parks and trails offers hikes for all experience levels. Our favorites are the upper rim of Conckle's Hollow and Cedar Falls. There are even a few short, paved options at Conckle's Hollow and Ash Cave!
  2. Boating/Canoeing. There are several outfitters that allow you to float the scenic Hocking River via canoe, kayak, tube, or raft contact including Fox's Canoe Livery, Hocking Hills Adventures, or Adventure Pro Outdoors to book your trip! Head up to Lake Logan and rent a pontoon boat and relax, swim, or fish from Lake Logan Marina.
  3. Visit the many wineries and breweries. Hocking Hills has some amazing wineries throughout the area, our favorites are Hocking Hills Winery, Le Petit Chevalier, and Revolution Rockbridge. For craft beer check out Brewery 33 or for some local moonshine take a tour of Hocking Hills Moonshine. There is also a service, Cork & Tap Excursions, that will provide a fun-filled, highly rated tour for your group to all of the best wineries, breweries, and distilleries in the area!
  4. Outdoor adventures. Speed down ziplines at Hocking Hills Canopy Tours or get your heart racing on the miles of ATV trails with a rental from Adventure Pro Outdoors. Prefer a more laid-back option? Tour the area on horseback with a trail ride from Uncle Buck's Riding Stable or Spotted Horse Ranch. Want to climb or rappel some of the incredible rock formations in the area? Contact High Rock Adventures to book your rock climbing, rappelling, or ecotour.
  5. Visit local artisans. One of the gems located in Hocking Hills is Jack Pine Studio, a local glass blowing artist famous for his amazing and unique pumpkins. It’s one of our favorite artists to visit in the area. If you’d like some amazing local photography, check out Dusty Blues Photography. Most of the pictures in our cabin came from this great local photographer. There is also Homegrown on Main in downtown Logan that has a collection of artwork from various local artisans available for purchase.
  6. For the kiddos. While hiking and canoeing are great family activities, there are some amazing options for the kids (or kids at heart!) in the area as well. Check out Fox's High Rock Farm petting zoo where you can interact with goats, donkey’s, llamas and more! The kids will love gem mining and gold panning at Hocking Hills Gem Mine or a round of mini-golf at Adventure Golf at Remple's Grove. For a truly unique experience, check out the Scottish Highlands cattle at Pfarr Farms. Reservations are required (you can book on the website), but this is a truly unique experience!
